No Lower Cost Funeral Today.

No Lower Cost Funeral Today.

Breaking News-Friday January 30th 2009 As news organizations on the  east cost were headed home the Illinois Funeral Directors Association issued a statement on a class action lawsuit by Funeral Establishments in the State of Illinois.

The Statement did not say too much. But then most public statements about lawsuits never do. This much we do know:

1.The lawsuit is centered around the license of the IFDA to manage the IFDA Preneed Trust.

2. The IFDA short statement defense was that the Comptroller in the State of Illinois renewed the license to manage the IFDA Preneed Trust Fund.

3. The Comptroller who issued the license was Senator Roland Burris.

5. The Comptroller who renewed the license 20x was Senator Roland Burris.

6. The current comptroller took away the license of the Illinois Funeral Directors association to manage the fund because the license should not have been issued in the first place.

7. The IFDA admitted to World Net Daily that  Senator Burris  was a lobbyist for them in 2007.

8. The IFDA has reported that the total Loss in the fund to be 59 million USD.

9. Merrill Lynch Bank and Trust was named the trustee after being an adviser to the IFDA management of the fund.

10. Merrill Lynch was purchased out by the the Bank of a America after a bailout by the US Treasury.

IFDA Lawsuit Statement came during the wake of Blagojevich impeachment and his political funeral.

“A Class Action suit has been filled by Virginia H. Dunkle and Maria Dusembery for the benefit of Dr. Ludimilla Petrauskas. We have issued the following statement concerning this action: “The IFDA Preneed Trust began operating in 1980 under a license issued by the Illinois Office of the Comptroller which regularly renewed the license over the course of more than 25 years. At this juncture, our counsel is reviewing this legal filing to determine the most appropriate course of action to defend our Association, our members and the truth.”

Now if you followed all that good for you. Lesson: stay away from preneed funds, banks and politicians, US Treasury,  Funeral Organizations and lawyers who say the “truth.”

Thomas Lynch Funeral Poet

Thomas Lynch Funeral Poet

Thomas Lynch the Funeral Industry Poet and Icon has been using a lower cost funeral technology: the Internet. In a New York Times article earlier this winter.

From the New York Times Paper Cuts:

“The Web is like having my favorite haunts — library and post office, theater and gallery, newsroom,
museum and archives — all in the same stone’s throw. No less the mall, casino and bawdy house; but those
are dissipations I’ve, for the most part,
avoided. For pure pleasure, an hour’s mousing around dictionary.com is hard to better.”

Written like a poet and the in the Web’s stones throw  you can save money on a funeral, buy your casket, and plan your funeral.

Most funeral home owners with large fixed assets do not want you to use this low cost funeral technology, the web.

This funeral industry leader has confessed-he uses the net.

In fact some of the last folks to come around on the Internet are funeral traditionalists. Web usage as we all know can save money. Even on a Funeral.

Senator Roland Burris

Senator Roland Burris

Senator Roland Burris Please Let us know about the 30 Year  old  Lower Cost Funeral mistake. Generally i do not like to speak about the mistakes I made thirty years ago. Some of them still haunt me today.

Back in 1979, you issued a license as Comptroller to the Illinois Funeral Directors Association (IFDA). I am sure that at that time you were helping folks with a lower cost funeral.

There is a problem. Over the  years the IFDA lost,  mismanaged, misused or stole  59 million dollars of the fund.  The current Comptroller took away the license of the IFDA to manage the fund.In 2007 and maybe 2008 you turned up as a lobbyist for these guys. No matter what bookkeepinng method  used, you were paid out of the fund. In 2008 you were nominated to the US Senate and took office in 2009. Please give an Explanation.

From the IFDA’s  Website:

“The IFDA Preneed Trust, established in 1979, can assist you in achieving optimum growth with safety for prefinanced funeral arrangements. IFDA provides free agreement forms, line of credit coverage, promotional brochures and total administrative services to participating member firms. We offer a wide variety of services to our members and the public, including a credit union, master trust, funeral financing, legislative lobbying, a job location service and more.”

Just tell us Senator Burris. The State of Illinois wants to know. So does the funeral industry.

Be sure to rest in peace at your lower cost funeral

Be sure to rest in peace at your lower cost funeral

Breaking News-According to the National Funeral Directors Association Casket Companies have raised prices recently. In most cases this eventually will mean that your funeral cost may/will  rise.

Yes Folks are demanding the Lower Cost Funeral. If you choose a traditional funeral pressures are driving the price upwards.

The statement from the NFDA(National Funeral Directors Association) says

Jessica Koth, a spokeswoman for the National Funeral Directors Association, said the industry is not immune to the recession.

“We are finding from our funeral homes that they are feeling the pinch just as other everyday Americans are,” Koth said. Some casket manufacturers have increased fees and surcharges on what they sell to funeral homes, and many directors “have chosen to ride that out and not pass any of those extra expenses on to families,” Koth said.”

She was quoted in the Gainesville Times

The statement many funeral directors ” have chosen to ride that out and not pass any of those extra expenses on to families” is quite a nothing statement. Common sense says many Funeral Directors have passed those funeral expenses on to the consumer already.

The consistent trend in this economy is that the public is demanding lower funeral costs and expenses.

From the Article:

Funeral services. The only sure thing in life is death and taxes, and people will continue to pay for burial or cremation. “There is a demand, but it may be at a lower price point,” Humphries said.

Why won't the IFDA Talk?

Why won't the IFDA Talk?

The Illinois Funeral Directors Association has continually refused to answer Questions about the IFDA Preneed Trust.

Members of the media have told me that these specific questions have been refused an answer.

1. Who is involved in the lawsuit against the IFDA?

2. What were the lobbying efforts of Roland Burris on behalf of the IFDA?

3. Was Roland Burris paid with IFDA Preneed Trust Funds?

4. What IFDA funds went to pay lobbyists?

The IFDA has refused to answer questions from the press even the Funeral Industry Press.

The coverup continues.
