National Prearranged Services was barred from doing business in Illinois. I received a report on Saturday that NPS laid off (gave everyone a layoff) everyone? Are they out of business? Pre-Paid funeral funds have gone out of business before!
This shows that just because someone has a fancy website they may not be the best place to do business.
The Illinois Funeral Directors Association (IFDA)has declared a 40 Million Dollar Deficit in the IFDA Preneed Trust. The State of Illinois took away their license to Manage the fund. If they were a corporation they would be out of business. They are not even letting us know how they are staying afloat.
Certainly they if the were not on association, or maybe a “Funeral Director’s Association” they would be out of business.
Responsible parties in the Funeral Industry, in the State of Illinois, have not spoken up on this matter State Senator Randall Hultgren, of Hultgren funeral home and State Representative Dan Brady.

More information on Prepaid Funerals is available here:
The Illinois Funeral Directors Association Refuses to Say Where 40 Million Dollars went. It is very important for funeral directors to be truthful about funeral cost. IFDA purports to give you a lower cost funeral when pre-planning a funeral. Congressman and state legislators so far have failed to bring them to account on this $40,000,000,deficit on funeral cost,
All they are saying is that they are still paying death claims. This is a good thing. The problem is they are refusing accountability on funeral cost to the tune of 40,000.000 Dollars.
Refusing accountability is a pattern for funeral directors. It is very important that they tell “IFDA Preneed Trust Families” where the 40,000,000.00 went. This will set a precedent for funeral directors accounting for funeral cost and other associated costs like cremation.
This is what the IFDA says on their website.
“IFDA ISSUES A RESPONSE TO STATE JOURNAL-REGISTER ARTICLE
Families can be reassured that funeral benefits for participants of the IFDA Preneed Trust are still being paid in full at the time of death-as they have always been. Now IFDA is working with Regions Morgan Keegan Trust as trustee to move forward.”
State Representative and funeral director Dan Brady and State Senator Randall Hultgren ( Hultgren Funeral Home, Wheaton, IL)have refused to hold the IFDA Preneed TRUST people to the fire.
